German language skills
What you already need to know – and what you learn at the Landheim
Depending on the grade level, German language skills of level B2 (grades 9 and 10) or B1 (grades 7 and 8) are required for admission. Most international students acquire these in advance at specialised language schools. Once at the Landheim, the students also receive DaF courses (4 hours a week) to continuously improve their German language skills. At the end of each school year, there is an examination by the Goethe-Institut. In addition, DaF lessons accompany the lessons, i.e. the content from the subjects German and history, for example, is repeated and explained.
We also offer language courses at the Landheim during the autumn holidays and Abitur preparation courses during the Easter holidays.
Getting to know Germany
Language and culture workshop
For our new international students in Years 8 and 9, we also offer a language and culture workshop, which they are required to attend during their first year at Landheim. In addition to focusing on oral expression, they learn more about life in Germany and German society through excursions to local sights, theatre performances or cinema visits in Munich and Landsberg, or by trying out German or international cuisine:
We use many creative and interesting ways to impart cultural knowledge and intercultural diversity to our international and national students.
Medical care
Our students have their own infirmary with trained nurses who are professionally supported by a local GP.
And during the holidays …
If the students do not want to make the sometimes long journey home during the short holidays, it is possible to organise host families or language courses for the holidays. Just ask us.
