Schule, die Spaß macht – auch und gerade im Distanzunterricht!

School that's fun - even and especially in distance learning!

Teaching at Landheim Ammersee is progressive, motivating and student-orientated - in all school types.

This applies to "normal" face-to-face lessons, but of course also to digital lessons. For us, this is actually a matter of course, but the very positive response from our students and parents has prompted us to provide an overview of the facts:

Structure

  • The seamless and guaranteed continuation of the timetable - in all subjects - enables a fixed daily structure that provides stability and orientation, which is appreciated by both the students and their families.

Technology

  • All classes (including the primary school) are taught via the stable medium Microsoft Teams. This platform combines the use of chats, meetings, notes and attachments. This works for groups/classes as well as - in parallel - for individuals, thus enabling individualised teaching even in digital classes.
  • As this technology was already in use before the pandemic, it is well established at Landheim - and can be used professionally by teachers and students alike.
  • Two IT employees are available to provide technical support for everyone (including pupils and parents) and always find quick and pragmatic solutions if there is a problem.
  • The technical equipment of the Landheim is excellent and exceptionally professional for a school thanks to high investments: fibre optic network, high-quality and more than sufficient access points for Wi-Fi use on campus, reliable security systems.
  • Several classroom sets with Microsoft Surfaces make it easier for our primary school pupils in particular to get started with digital lessons, and we also have plenty of laptops available for students to borrow.

Teaching

  • Perfect technology is the prerequisite for good distance learning - but the decisive factor is still who uses it and how..
  • The commitment of our teachers is impressive, both in terms of their willingness to learn new techniques and their creativity in using them - a real enrichment of our teaching methods and didactics.
  • At the Landheim, pupils cannot "hide" behind the technology. Every lesson begins with a video chat - in which every pupil is visible. Direct contact during the lessons maintains attention. And if someone does get "lost" in between, an immediate phone call to the parents provides orientation ..

Community

  • The intensive personal contact between teachers and pupils - even after lessons - is helpful, motivating and enjoyable for both sides - because "being a Landheimer" brings people together!
  • Even in times of "social distancing", the cohesion of all Landheimers is strong - and tangible. Weekly proof of this is our digital school assembly: information & entertainment for everyone - in keeping with the Landheim spirit.
