What unites us makes us strong Community

At Landheim Ammersee, community means much more than just living together: it is the heart and foundation of our boarding school life, characterised by mutual support, genuine responsibility for each other and the awareness of being part of something bigger.

Mentorship

Living community

The mentorate is more than just a group: it is the foundation of our life together and can become your place in the community. Here, social commitment is not only taught, but lived on a daily basis.

Small groups, great closeness

Each mentor group consists of around eight pupils and a teacher or educator. This framework creates close bonds, joint activities and a sense of togetherness that builds trust. Whether it's having lunch together every day, organising projects, discussing different points of view or making joint decisions – the children and young people practise skills that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Learning for life, without grades.

Responsibility for each other

Older pupils sponsor younger ones, help them settle in, give extra tuition or plan weekend activities. This creates a culture of responsibility and care. Many mentoring programmes develop strong communities – and often friendships that last forever.

Celebrations and encounters

Tradition and joie de vivre

Joint celebrations are at the heart of our culture at Landheim Ammersee. They create encounters, strengthen the sense of togetherness and create memories that will last far beyond the school years. Whether at the festive formal dinner on Foundation Day, at the cheerful St Nicholas party and the festive Christmas party or at the elegant Landheim Ball – our events unite tradition and joie de vivre in a unique way.

Celebrations for all generations

At the summer festival or Maypole raising, pupils, teachers, parents and friends celebrate side by side. These moments embody community spirit and show that school is much more than just lessons.

Small parties, great joy

In addition to the big celebrations, the many small and large parties in our school's own club rooms, run by students, make for unforgettable evenings. This is where friendships, stories and a genuine sense of togetherness are formed.

Social services

Everyone takes responsibility here

At Landheim Ammersee, education means more than just knowledge. We support young people who are willing to take on responsibility and put their strengths at the service of the community. Social services are a central component of our educational concept.

Learning what really matters

Those who get involved grow beyond themselves: pupils learn to act reliably, to empathise with others and to put their own wishes aside in favour of the common good. These experiences have a lasting impact – and are an important step on the path to becoming a responsible person.

Compulsory and optional – open to all

All pupils from Year 8 to Year 10 are obliged to perform a year of social service as part of their everyday school life. In addition, pupils from all year groups can apply voluntarily and contribute their talents. There are many different ways to get involved: as a co-trainer in sports programmes, as a break supervisor, helping in the caretaker's office or in the bistro – or by tutoring younger pupils free of charge. In this way, the young people experience directly how important their contribution is for daily interaction.

Responsibility beyond the campus

There are also numerous opportunities outside the boarding school: in cooperation with charitable organisations, students gain valuable experience that strengthens their social skills and sense of responsibility.

Social services not only promote community – they shape personalities. Many students take motivation, maturity and values from these experiences that extend far beyond their time at school. They become a real foundation for life.

Democracy

Society needs commitment

The commitment to our free and democratic basic order is a matter close to our hearts, not least because of our history. It can be found in many areas of school and boarding school life: whether in the class council, in the regularly meeting student parliament, the work of our elected student representatives in the "Ring"… but also in panel discussions and information events on all upcoming elections with guests from all democratic groups or commemorative events. We live democracy, even when it gets exhausting.

School uniform

An expression of togetherness

We attach great importance to dressing appropriately for the occasion. In accordance with our code of values, we do not judge people by their clothes and do not define people by brands. We therefore expect a reserved approach to expensive supposed status symbols. In our clothing shop, every pupil is obliged to purchase the following basics, which are worn on certain occasions: shirt, polo shirt, jumper, sports shirt and trousers.

The following rules apply during lessons:

  • No jogging trousers, no sportswear
  • No clothing that is too short
  • No offensive, vulgar or political messages
  • Appropriateness in terms of cleanliness and large "decorative holes"
  • Traditional costume or festive clothing is worn on festive occasions
