Landheim Ammersee Gruppe beim Segeln

Promoting talent, opening up opportunities.

Scholarships

In the spirit of promoting excellence, we specifically support Landheim students who shine with good to very good grades and enrich society with their commitment. Because they have not only internalised our values, but actively carry them forward. And set a good example. With our scholarships, we want to honour outstanding achievements – and make them possible. Because it is not the parents' income that determines what a young person is capable of. And yet it is also up to the parents: The application for a scholarship is best filled out together! For children, a new chapter may soon begin – as a scholarship holder at Landheim Ammersee.

That's what matters:

"Top marks in the subject of community spirit"

Our support programme is aimed at all girls and boys who are keen to achieve something, who are prepared to challenge themselves and test their own limits. But a top grade is not everything! The most important requirement for our scholarship holders is that they make a special contribution to the Landheim community and are keen to play an active role in shaping boarding school life.

FAQ about our scholarships

Who can apply?

All students who bring two things to the table: Firstly, good to very good academic performance. Secondly, the desire to further develop their own social skills in living and working together with their peers. This also includes taking responsibility for themselves and others, getting involved in society and actively shaping the boarding school community. The exact requirements for the individual scholarships can be found in the respective application forms.

What is part of the application?

Please send us the completed application form, a CV of the student, the school reports of the last two or three school years, a reference letter from a subject teacher and a handwritten letter of motivation from the applicant. Sometimes we would also like a little extra proof of achievement. For example, we are already looking forward to reading the history essay of the applicants for the Dr Stephan von Katona Scholarship. You will find all details on the required documents in the application forms. But what is most important to us is the idea that we can grow with and on each other. We would be happy to convince ourselves of this when we meet in person!

For what period are scholarships awarded?

To ensure that as many students as possible can benefit from the advantages of an excellent education at the Landheim, all scholarships are initially granted as partial scholarships: the scholarships begin and end with the school year, after which an application for extension can be submitted. Merit scholarships are usually also granted in subsequent years – up to the Abitur – if the good to very good academic performance is maintained. In individual cases, the opportunity scholarship is also available as a full scholarship.

How exactly does the application work?

As soon as we receive the application documents – but at the latest after 1 June of each year – we examine all applications very carefully and make a preliminary selection. All pupils who are generally suitable for Landheim Ammersee are invited to an application day together with their parents. Depending on the number of applications, the application days take place individually or in a bundle in the course of June. The written acceptances and rejections are then sent out after 1 July of each year.

How are the scholarships awarded?

Scholarships are awarded to girls and boys with outstanding academic or extracurricular achievements and exceptional social commitment. The financial situation of the parents also plays a role. The head of the Landheim Schondorf am Ammersee Foundation or the Dr Stephan von Katona Memorial Foundation decides on the awarding of scholarships on the recommendation of the Scholarship Committee. The decision is final and therefore incontestable. There is no entitlement to a scholarship. The details of the awarding procedure can be found in the scholarship regulations.
