Landheim Academy
Deepen your knowledge. Broaden your horizons. The Landheim Academy complements the regular curriculum with a diverse, challenging programme of courses – interdisciplinary, practical and with an eye to the world of tomorrow. Whether it’s public speaking, philosophy, photography or business English – the Academy’s courses combine academic thinking with creative development and real-life experience. The result is a programme that leaves you wanting more – beyond the traditional timetable. The Academy encourages independent research, open-ended work and dialogue with others. Through projects, workshops and seminars, learners explore their interests and discover new ones.
Lecturers from the worlds of academia and culture bring fresh perspectives into the classroom. They provide insights into specialist areas that go beyond the school curriculum and support the young people as equals. The Academy’s content and formats are tailored to current requirements in higher education and the world of work. At the same time, they hone key skills for the future, such as communication skills, analytical thinking, creativity and personal responsibility.
At the Learning Centre, studying doesn’t feel like a chore. You can work in peace, get help from teachers when you need it, and there’s always someone there who can explain things clearly. It’s a place where you really understand things, rather than just learning them by heart.

Places to learn
Whether in the classroom, by the babbling stream on campus, in the library, in the learning centre, on the jetty or in your boarding house room … Landheim offers a wide range of learning spaces, each providing the ideal setting depending on the learning situation. Everyone can find their favourite spot.
Learning Centre
Learning comes to life in the Learning Centre. Here, pupils can explore the curriculum in depth at their own pace – in quiet study rooms for focused work or in project rooms for discussing ideas with others. In addition, teachers from the relevant subject departments are on hand to explain content, answer questions and explore topics in greater depth. This creates a learning space where knowledge flourishes – individually, in a structured way and collectively.
Digital Learning
Mastering technology. Understanding media. Shaping the future. Digital learning at Landheim Ammersee means more than simply using devices – it involves a thoughtful, pedagogically sound approach to media, data and technologies in everyday education. Digital tools are used specifically to deepen understanding of subject matter – not as an end in themselves, but as a complement to traditional learning. The focus is not on the devices themselves, but on the confident handling of information, communication and critical reflection.
Excellent technical facilities, loan devices and learning platform-based teaching form the technical foundation. Data protection, IT security and the responsible handling of personal data are, of course, integrated and professionally managed.
Digital education forms part of the overall educational concept: it is project-based, interdisciplinary and team-oriented. The ability to make meaningful use of digital spaces is taught just as much as the competence to navigate them critically and ethically.
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) is also a matter of course at Landheim Ammersee. And its use is, of course, regulated. After all, AI is one of many learning tools – but no substitute for independent thinking.
