Mountain bliss & a happy community

One of the special traditions at Landheim Ammersee is that all pupils, organised into their mentor groups, go to the mountains for three days at the start of the school year. It is no coincidence that all Landheim pupils are members of the German Alpine Club and make full use of this membership. Incidentally, the journey is made by public transport – Schondorf’s location is ideally suited to this.

As well as the sporting and nature-based aspects, it is above all the group dynamics that provide valuable impetus for the whole school year.And even those who aren’t keen on hiking (yes, apparently there are some here too) love the sense of community and the traditional evenings in the mountain huts (all without mobile phones – those stay at home) and take pride in their sporting achievements.
