A childhood promise. A family secret. And an impossible love during Italy’s golden years.
Two children in the garden of a Milanese villa: Piero, the radiant son of a car manufacturer. And
Valeria, the talented daughter of the household staff. They promise each other they will be friends for life.
Bound together by an old family secret, they spend their youth in Italy’s golden years, caught between the Dolce Vita and the cultural revolution. But when Piero is forced to take over his father’s legacy, Valeria falls in love with Flavio, the son of a Sicilian labourer – and everything changes.
