5 November 2026, 7.30 pm Invitation to an author reading: Takis Würger, ‘Für Polina’

The readings at Landheim Ammersee, which we organise in collaboration with Timbooktu bookshop, are very popular, well-attended and often sold out – not only in Schondorf, on the western shore of Lake Ammersee, but also further afield. This is hardly surprising, as the combination of culture and entertainment, sophisticated yet engaging books presented and read aloud by the authors themselves, the opportunity to chat with the author and fellow attendees over wine and snacks afterwards, and the beautiful surroundings speak for themselves.

The book: ‘For Polina’

When he is fourteen, Hannes Prager falls in love with a girl called Polina. To show her his love, the wonderfully gifted boy composes a melody that encapsulates all of Polina’s longings and wishes.
But his life takes an unexpected turn; Hannes stops playing the piano, and his and
Polina’s paths diverge. After years of feeling nothing but emptiness, Hannes realises: he must find Polina
again. And the only way he can reach her is through her melody
